When it came time to eat them, I hesitated to put the lips in my mouth and despite being initially just a tad slimy they had a crunchy biscuit base which made them work. Do you think they work in the local IGA?! Picard - the frozen supermarket is a bizarre experience and so far so good....the foie gras lips were not bad...about to test out some snails! The frozen hors d'oeuvres section was eye opening...you'd never need to get the caterers in ever again! The Norman Foster does work quite well in that space yet as I said they've gone in quite heavily with his work in this part of France (the bridge is only about an hour and a half away)....too funny about the bus terminal! She talks about the freezer section as being a total revelation... not at all like the Australian version. Love those little lip hours d'overs, had no idea that the French went in for kitsch!! The chicken soup sounds fantastic - shall have to whip some up, I'm a little tired of the current repertoire, especially as I've been on soup duty for a week with the husband and the wisdom teeth (thankfully he's now on solids).
That building looks like one of Norman Fosters more successful ones... I remember reading a list of his epic failure designs, such as the bus terminal that was too low to accommodate buses...
Well done on the joke, your French is obviously not so shabby at all! Personally, ...Ah yes, the French paradox of eating. Personally, I think the rest of the world laud the mystery of French eating habits. The only real paradox as you are probably aware of is the Gascogne paradox where they eat so much fat but have the lowest rates of heart disease in France but it's probably because it's goose fat. Having also lived in France for a bit, I always feel like I have to tell everyone that French women may walk around eating an eclair but then that's all they eat. It isn't a snack - it's their brunch! Those cream cheese lips seem so weird that I may look for it in my local French deli just to satisfy my curiosity. Bon appetit in any case!Coulda shoulda wouldahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12507021618497645667noreply@blogger.com
