I remember your recollections too......Thanks Liene! I remember your recollections too....it is amazing how kind people can be (I too leant on friends to make the tricky appointments!) and the French really have a very comprehensive medical system. I wonder what it would be like for you to have a baby in the US and experience the differences.....my French pregnancy may have been my 4th yet at times it was like my 1st! My experiences were some what difficult to gage last time as I was pregnant and came home 6 weeks after having the baby so I'm really wondering what it will be like this time. We'll see! Thankfully my father in law came out of hospital today....fingers crossed he makes a good recovery. Interestingly enough I hardly remember the fear: of my limited French, of unfamiliar doctors, hospitals. Instead I remember the French respect towards a pregnant woman, the friends who made phone calls for me, and the wonderful birth experience. I joke with my husband that if we have another, he'll have to send me back... Keeping your father in law in our prayers, and wishing you luck with the organization! Please be prepared for a blub from my side! I blub pretty much every time I see someone for the first time so when I see you I think there could be a veritable blub-fest! So, so excited. See you in precisely 3.5 weeks! Much love to you all xxxxxNicoleHamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17613349644223918839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-597462073845645035.post-22407582107168044202013-04-03T17:10:44.569+11:002013-04-03T17:10:44.569+11:00I can completely understand your slight feelings o...I can completely understand your slight feelings of trepidation at what awaits on the trip... fingers crossed it's not another pregnancy! How bizarre that you had such a vivid dream about your baby when you were pregnant too. <br />You are definitely made of much more adventurous stuff than I. I have always thought that while these sort of trips sound very romantic/ wonderful to talk about in years to come, that they are often difficult events that teach you a lot about yourself and your reserves. Not such a bad thing, but I found the year I lived in London to be a very personally challenging one.... lots of life lessons about friendships, work, money & poverty (!), and subtle cultural differences that I wasn't expecting made it a challenging year. I'm not sure I'd want to throw in another language and children to the mix. But three months will be a doddle for you after the 8 months and childbirth experiences of your previous trip - you've paved the way. I'm sure you have a long to-do list over the next three weeks, but you'll get there. Hopefully your father in law will rally, and your trip will be smooth sailing and an enriching experience. xxHeidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01432089507602828735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-597462073845645035.post-46003368649454845142013-04-03T15:24:42.186+11:002013-04-03T15:24:42.186+11:00Oh my goodness Romy - how exciting!!!!!
