Because I finally received my first, no holds barred, mean spirited comments. Some anonymous ray of sunshine took it upon themselves to tell me that they were concerned about my cake consumption and warned me that they wouldn't want me to become the 'Lipscome Lardarse'. They also suggested that I should wear a paper bag over my head to Derby Day. Ouch.
Luckily, I've just finished a 30 day Bikram Yoga challenge and am feeling very balanced. My mind and body have been stretched to the limit....at one stage I did four classes in two days....yet it's all good. So, in the interest of universal health and happiness and as a celebration of completing 30 classes in 30 days I'm giving away an introductory Bikram Yoga pass to be drawn randomly from my list of followers next Friday. Don't worry if you don't live in Hobart and can't get to the Bikram Yoga Studio New Town where I practice, the cult of Bikram Yoga has spread it's net far and wide so there's sure to be a studio near you.....don't believe me...click here to check.
Namaste.

PS
'Lipscombe Lardarse'......my husband is still laughing!
Romy, trying again as I couldn't post a comment with your new high security last night! Ignore anon, you most certainly do not need to justify your cake consumption especially with your yoga and photos showing you looking very svelt. Please don't give the Bikram pass to me though - I am fairly sure I'll pass out or vomit if I try it. Normal yoga pushes me to the edge with my low blood pressure, let alone a 40 degree studio! Enjoy Derby Day xx
ReplyDeleteHi Romy. My first comment! ignore horrible mean spirited people. I really don't understand why people feel the need to do that. Read something else if you don't like it and leave the rest of us to enjoy ourselves. Enjoy the races, you'll look gorgeous I'm sure. M xx
ReplyDeleteLipscombe Lardarse? Poor Larry. At least they were a tincy bit creative? Glad your laughing at the poor bugger who wrote this. They need sympathy and to be ignored.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a yoga fan; the LL probably applies to me so don't include me in the draw. Just wanted to show my support. Maybe your Annon could benefit from some enlightenment and something 'better' to do?

Hi Romy, congratulations, you have weathered your first mean commenter! I think you have responded in exactly the right way - with humour.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a little while (via FF of course) and really enjoy a peek into your life so far away - I'm in Canada - so thanks and don't let some silly person put you off.
How nasty. I am so sorry. I love your blog! It staggers me that people can be bothered writing nasty stuff. If a blog doesn't interest me, I just don't go back.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I eat something sweet and make a pot of tea every single day for morning tea, just for me. It's my habit and I love it. It's the simple things in life that matter. I am also not overweight and it hasn't harmed me at all. I made a ginger beer, chocolate & orange cake with cream cheese frosting yesterday. It is divine! It sort of tastes like a jaffa cake.

Oh and yoga - I'll have a crack - I've put on 400,000 kilos and acquired a very poor attitude during my 600 year old reno. If Heidi is keen maybe you can get us Adelaide girls a 2 for one. Kx (The Blog a House Built)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry....in the process of getting used to my new, long nails I accidentally deleted rather than published your very kind words....I kid you not for two days I couldn't even do up the fly on my jeans! Rx
Deleteyou aren't anyone in blog land until you receive cruel anon comments.
ReplyDeleteDELETE. x
Oh Romy. Yep, ditto what FF says. And nothing could be further from the truth. You are incredibly svelte and toned. All power to you for pulling off The Month! Must talk. J x
ReplyDeleteYou keep on eating cake...what is the world coming to ?
ReplyDeleteI come back to Hobart specifically aiming to become the Lipscombe Lardarse... honestly! At least you have creative meanies - a higher class of troll perhaps. Disturbing though I imagine. I always wonder why they bother... Blog on and let them eat cake. A x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous giveaway, my personal trainer (well, that I share with half a dozen other girls!) was raving about Bikram the other day and saying how brilliant it was! And considering how fabulous, gorgeous and glamourous you always look, my two cents worth is: enjoy your next slice of cake with gusto! xx
